Adriatic Kayak Tours is an American owned and managed Croatian company. After exploring the Dalmatian coast and islands on her own - by foot, kayak, and bicycle - Tamsen Resor (Tammy) discovered the region's greatest charms were beyond the reach of most tourists. Tammy established AKT in 2005 to offer guests an active holiday experience and a chance to venture beyond the usual tourist spots. "When I first discovered the natural beauty of this area I knew I had to share it with others. Starting this company brought together all my divergent interests: the outdoors, physical activity, a culturally rich and exciting place, and an international clientele." Tammy received her outdoor education / wilderness training from NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) in Wyoming, Kenya and Mexico and holds a Level III BCU Certification.

Ivan Stojanovich is a long term AKT employee with a background in journalism, history and IT which he traded for a more adventurous line of work of active travel.

Growing up in the country's capital Zagreb he always had many interests and passions which later in life resulted in a career choice that is everything but boring and simple - adventure tour guide and office manager.

If you give him a chance, he'll talk your ear off with local history, society, cuisine and natural beauties and for all other topics, don't hesitate to ask anything. In his free time this ACA certified trip leader likes to read and enjoys all sorts of music so if you have any suggestions for reading or are in search for a new music playlist he'll appreciate both inputs and questions, so there is an idea for a conversation on a long transfer or at a lunch table. If your french needs work, his does too, so you can both practice in a judgement-free zone.

Borna Kachich, from Zagreb, earned his Masters in Philosophy and history of religion. During his 20-years career as an outdoor enthusiast and a professional guide, Borna guided trips all over the world - on rafts, bikes, kayaks and by foot. He is fluent in English, Spanish and German. Certifications include Backroads leader training, IRF Raft Guide II, ACA L2 Instructor, Basic Alpine course, First Aid training + CPR by Red Cross. In his spare time, Borna enjoys cycling / mountain biking, wine and zen stories. If you've never met a human encyclopedia before, now's your chance.

Marko Polich is from Ogulin, Croatia. He is a forest engineer by education; an adventure seeker by call. Marko's interests and achievements cover all terrain: mountains, seas, rivers, and slopes. Marko serves as a mountain rescue guide with the Croatian Mountaineering Association; he is a grade IV/V whitewater trip leader with the International Rafting Federation. He competed in the World Rafting Championships in Czech Republic in 2003 and led a Croatian Alpine Expedition on Annapurna II in the Himalayas in 2008. "I've paddled about 35 rivers throughout the world. I love water in every state it comes on Earth: water, ice, snow, steam... I still don't know what to do with the steam".

Ivan Piper comes from the Medieval town of Pozega in northeastern Croatia. In addition to working as a professional ski instructor in Italy during the winter and as a sea kayak guide in spring, summer, and fall, Ivan did a master's degree at the Faculty of Law, on the subject of the regulation of sea kayaking. He chose one of our little kayaking islands as the site of his wedding in the middle of season 2017. Additional interests include mountain biking and wine - not necessarily together. Ivan has returned to AKT for a tenth season. He holds ACA (American Canoe Association) Level 3 Trip Leader, Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder certifications.

Domagoj Tot is a proud owner of the longest beard in AKT. He grew up by the sea - a true local from Dubrovnik. Few witty people nicknamed him Poseidon, but he prefers Dom. A bachelor degree in Media and Social culture, a year in the army, and 10 years guiding in sea kayaking wrap his resume up. Dom is the most silent guide among us - a man of many talents and mysteries. Other interests include hiking and motorcycles. Certifications include ACA Level 2 Trip Leader, Rescue 3 Swiftwater and Flood First Responder.
